Wang, Nationals lose to Braves 5-2

The Nationals were trying to take the series from the Atlanta Braves Thursday night, but it wasn't to be. One of their consistent starters of late, Chien-Ming Wang, struggled early and put the team in an early hole.

Wang gave up home runs to Brian McCann and Chipper Jones and the Nationals lost to the Braves 5-2.

The Nationals were only able to come up with two runs. Notably, Jayson Werth homered off of Atlanta starter Tim Hudson to cut the Braves lead to 3-1 in the sixth inning, but it wasn't enough.

Atlanta's bullpen shut down the Nationals the rest of the way. Washington will now return home for 10 games and the return of phenom Stephen Strasburg. They will play the New York Mets Friday night at 7:05 p.m.
