Major League Baseball announced its nominees from each team for the Hank Aaron Award today, and not surprisingly, the Nationals' nominee for the honor - which recognizes the top offensive player in each league - is outfielder Michael Morse.
The 29-year-old had an eye-opening season this year, blasting 31 homers and hitting .303. Morse led the team in almost every offensive category, becoming just the fourth Nationals player to hit 30 homers in a season and the first to hit .300 in the same year he'd reached the 30-homer plateau.
The award is given to the top offensive player in each league, and is voted on by a panel of seven Hall of Famers.
