Nationals catcher Wilson Ramos, who returned safely to his family on Friday night after being abducted in Valencia, Venezuela on Wednesday, intends to play for the Tigres de Aragua in the Venezuelan Professional Baseball League on Wednesday, according to family friend/PR representative Marfa Mata.
Mata tweeted this afternoon that Ramos will make his winter ball debut for the Tigres at home against Caracas, where he could face Nationals pitchers Henry Rodriguez and Josh Wilkie. Ramos had said he wants to play at least a few games in Venezuela as a thank-you to the league for supporting him during his abduction.
