Weekend winners

A little late to go against my picks to score enough cash to put some sweet gifts under the Christmas tree, but you can pocket enough dough to spring for a couple of nice bottles of booze for your New Year's Eve party! Pittsburgh -14 vs. Carolina - What an ugly primetime game for the NFL Network tonight. But it's an NFL game during ... read more

Grossman isn't the answer

I'll admit it. I was wrong about Donovan McNabb. I thought he'd have a bomb season with the Washington Redskins. Instead he threw 15 interceptions while throwing just 14 touchdowns before finally being benched by coach Mike Shanahan. I doubt we'll ever see McNabb throw another pass for the Redskins. The trade was a colossal disaster as the Skins traded away draft picks to ... read more

Always bet against Cakes

Now that 2011 is rapidly approaching, thought it would be a good time to reminisce on the year that was, and the continual building of the Always Bet Against Cakes brand. Let's take a look at three high-profile gaffes that are par for the course: 1) Brett Favre will start every game of the 2010 NFL season - I bet Junkies producer Bret Ivey ... read more

Brady is the best

Everybody knows I have a man crush on Peyton Manning. The four-time MVP is often talked about as one of the greatest quarterbacks of all-time. And he is. Who can argue with his numbers? But I just can't make the case that he's better than Tom Brady anymore. He just isn't. Brady has the rings and he should gain ground on Manning with an ... read more

Bowl season gifts

Okay degenerates, this is my last posting before the holidays and more than likely my last ever, but that's another discussion. Here are my fatties for you. I guarantee you I go 60 percent, and if I don't, Cakes told me he would let you all borrow his wife for New Year's Eve! Play at your own risk, of course. Remember, the games start ... read more

It's about time

Finally - yesterday the Washington Redskins did what everybody knew they needed to do. It was inevitable. Albert had to go. By suspending him for the final four games of the season, the Redskins effectively cut ties with the biggest free agent bust in NFL history. What took them so long? On Feb. 27, 2009 Albert signed a $100 million dollar contract to play ... read more

Ramblings of a Madman

This post is gonna be all over the place, so just bear with me... * The Junkies Movie Reviewer, BDK, recently included "Scott Pilgrim vs. The World" in his Top 10 Movies of 2010 list. He should immediately be deported to Iran and stoned to death for that. It's the worst movie I can remember watching since Wall-e, which BDK also loved. To be ... read more

Indefensible

This Sunday was yet another debacle for the Washington Redskins who got smashed by the New York Giants 31-7. It was the Redskins fifth loss in their last 7 games. I thought they'd get to 8 wins this season but that seems like a long shot now. They're a bad team. And here are their biggest problems. The Redskins can't stop the run. We've ... read more
