District 34 podcast: Injury updates heading into the postseason

Playoff baseball is back in D.C.! The Nationals are back in the postseason after clinching their third National League East division title in five years last weekend, and will face the Dodgers in the National League Division Series. That series starts next Friday, but where it will begin remains to be seen.

The Nationals hold a two-game lead over the Dodgers heading into today's series finale against the Diamondbacks at Nats Park. Their magic number to clinch home field advantage for the NLDS is three as both teams finish up their penultimate regular season series.

Nats-NL-East-champs-2016-sidebar.jpgHow important is home field advantage for the Nationals? Bryon and I debate whether the Nats need the series to start and end in D.C., or if they are good enough to take the series as the No. 3 seed.

Also, earlier this week the Nationals lost Wilson Ramos for the rest of the season to a torn ACL. We discuss the impact Ramos' loss has on not only the team, but of the catcher's future as well. But on the positive side, we did get injury updates from Dusty Baker today on Bryce Harper, Daniel Murphy and Stephen Strasburg.

As the Nationals inch closer to October baseball, Bryon and I get you fully prepared for the final weekend of the regular season and upcoming playoffs on this week's episode of the District 34 podcast. We'll have a more in-depth preview of the NLDS next week, so be sure to subscribe on iTunes for all the latest episodes of District 34's coverage of playoff baseball!
