Game 38 lineups: Nats vs. Marlins (Murphy scratched)

What a strange few weeks of weather the Nationals have experienced. It seems like the conditions have alternated just about every day, from warm and muggy to mild and rainy to cold and windy. We've got the latter this afternoon for the Nats' series finale against the Marlins, with temperatures in the 50s and a strong, steady wind blowing from left to right fields.

That may help the ball carry for left-handed batters today, which might not be a bad thing for the Nationals, who are going up against Miami ace Jose Fernandez. The dynamic right-hander has never lost to the Nats in seven career starts, going 4-0 with a 1.05 ERA. Suffice it to say, this is a stiff challenge today.

The Nationals do have Bryce Harper back in the lineup, though, after he served his one-game suspension last night. All the regulars are in there against Fernandez, with the notable exception of Jayson Werth, who is out for the second straight game. (He did play in yesterday's opener.) Clint Robinson makes his first appearance of the season in the outfield.

What gives? Well, Werth is 1-for-16 in his career against Fernandez. Robinson is 2-for-3 with a homer. That might explain it.

Update: Lineup change for the Nats: Daniel Murphy has been scratched due to an illness, replaced by Stephen Drew at second base. He was in the clubhouse this morning, and nothing appeared to be out of the ordinary, but the Nationals say he is under the weather...
