Game 60 lineups: Nats at White Sox

CHICAGO - The good news: It's warmer today than it was either of the previous two days, when temperatures never got out of the 60s. The bad news: It's raining. And it's not supposed to stop all night. What that means for the series finale between the Nationals and White Sox: This could be dicey.

The problem is that the Nats don't return to Chicago again this season. So a postponement would require a special trip back here at some point. Which nobody ever wants to do. But the Nats also don't want to sit around here all night, get back to D.C. at 6 a.m., fight morning rush hour traffic just to get home and then play at 7:05 p.m. tomorrow against the Phillies.

So there's no good answer to this dilemma.

If and when they do play, we'll have history on display: Gio Gonzalez pitching for the Nationals, Miguel Gonzalez pitching for the White Sox. It's apparently the first-ever Gonzalez vs. Gonzalez pitching matchup in Major League Baseball history (at least, according to ESPN's Jayson Stark, who lives for this kind of minutiae).

Also, keep in mind that the MLB draft begins tonight. The Nationals own the 28th and 29th picks, compensation for the free agent losses of Jordan Zimmermann and Ian Desmond. Byron Kerr will have all of that covered later tonight, so be sure to check his blog on the site for the latest ...
