Injury updates

Closer Mike Gonzalez, who's been bothered by some tightness in his lower back, continues to increase his workload and believes he's close to pitching again. "I feel much better," he said. "I did more activities yesterday and I'll do a little more today. I've been playing catch every day to keep my arm in shape. It's just a matter of getting back on the mound and seeing how it goes. Obviously, if I need more time, I'll take another day and try to see if I can get on the mound tomorrow. "There are no concerns at all." First baseman Michael Aubrey remains day-to-day after injuring his groin in Saturday's game in Tampa. "It feels better, but I've never done this, so I'm not sure what to expect," he said. "I'll try to get out there as quickly as I can." Brian Roberts walked through the clubhouse this morning, but he didn't approach his locker while reporters stood around for an hour. Anyone need a ride to Fort Myers? I have plenty of room in the backseat.
