Nationals recall Wander Suero and Austin Voth

The Washington Nationals recalled right-handed pitchers Wander Suero and Austin Voth from Triple-A Syracuse on Tuesday. Additionally, the Nationals placed left-handed pitcher Sean Doolittle on the 10-day disabled list (retroactive to July 7) with left toe inflammation and optioned right-handed pitcher Jefry Rodriguez to Triple-A Syracuse. Nationals President of Baseball Operations and General Manager Mike Rizzo made the announcements.

Suero, 26, returns for his third major league stint of the season. He has appeared in 15 games for the Nationals, going 1-0 with a 3.63 ERA. Suero has offered scoreless relief in 11 of his 15 outings.

Voth, 26, is 4-5 with a 3.55 ERA in 15 starts for Triple-A Syracuse to start the season.

Doolittle, 31, is 3-2 with 22 saves and a 1.45 ERA in 35 games out of the bullpen. His 22 saves ranks fourth among National League relievers.

Rodriguez, 24, has appeared in five games (three starts), pitching to a 6.86 ERA (15 ER/19.2 IP) with 17 strikeouts.
