The Nationals' 2018 regular season will have to wait one more day.
With a 100 percent chance of rain predicted for tomorrow (and throughout much of the weekend) in Cincinnati, the Reds today announced that the opening day game against the Nationals has been postponed until Friday, March 30 at 4:10 p.m. Friday's game can be seen on MASN (not MASN2 as Thursday's game had been scheduled).
All opening day festivities planned for tomorrow's opening day will now take place at the same times on Friday.
This is why they have that built-in off-day following opening day.
Max Scherzer will still face the Reds' Homer Bailey in the season opener, with the only change to this first series' pitching matchups being right-hander Sal Romano now facing Gio Gonzalez in Sunday's finale.
Fans holding tickets for opening day on Thursday may present their same ticket for the rescheduled opening day game on Friday with no exchange necessary.
If you are holding tickets and cannot attend Friday's rescheduled game, tickets may be exchanged for any remaining 2018 regular season Reds home game, subject to availability. Ticket exchanges can be made at Great American Ball Park ticket windows throughout the regular season.
Fans holding tickets purchased through StubHub may use their same tickets for the makeup game only with no exchange necessary. Contact StubHub for more information.
Fans holding tickets for the Diamond Club, Fox Sports Club and the Handlebar should on to their tickets. Those tickets will be valid for the same location for the makeup game on March 30 only.
For questions regarding the Diamond Club or Fox Sports Club tickets, fans should call (513) 765-7210. Handlebar ticket questions should be directed to (513) 765-7600.
