Nats split-squads host Braves on MASN, face Mets in Port St. Lucie

VIERA, Fla. - The countdown has begun. There are only four days' worth of games left down here, and only two games left to be played at Space Coast Stadium ever. Before we go to tomorrow's teary-eyed finale, though, the Nationals first must play split-squad games today. They've got the Braves here in Viera and the Mets in Port St. Lucie.

Most of the regulars, as is custom, are playing in the home game. And most are scheduled to play nine innings, something that becomes important during this final week of camp. Gio Gonzalez gets the start here, with Matt Belisle, Sean Burnett, Jonathan Papelbon and Nick Masset expected to pitch in relief.

Down the road in Port St. Lucie, it'll be Yusmeiro Petit getting the start. He's allowed to go up to five innings and 75 pitches, so he'll be stretched out in case the Nats do need him to make a start (or a long relief appearance) for some reason early in the season.

Be sure to tune into MASN for the home game. The whole crew is here for the last broadcast of camp ...
