NLDS Game 1 lineups: Nats at Dodgers

LOS ANGELES - It's a beautiful day in the City of Angels, but then again most days here are. Dodger Stadium is resplendent as ever, set to host yet another postseason series, the Nationals for the second time. The Nats won one of the two games they played here in 2016.

Everything starts anew tonight, with Game 1 of the National League Division Series pitting these two star-studded franchises against each other again, with some of the same cast of characters but plenty of new ones as well. Including both of tonight's starting pitchers.

Patrick-Corbin-Delivers-Front-at-MIA-Gray-Sidebar.jpgPatrick Corbin makes his long-awaited postseason debut, having been on the Diamondbacks roster for the 2017 NLDS but never getting to pitch after they were swept by the Dodgers. The left-hander has pitched well in this ballpark (2.97 ERA in 11 career starts, only two runs allowed in his last five starts here).

Walker Buehler gets the nod for the Dodgers, who elected to hold Clayton Kershaw for Game 2 and Hyun-Jin Ryu for Game 3. The young right-hander has faced the Nationals twice this season, allowing seven runs (four earned) in 12 1/3 innings.

The Nationals lineup is the same as it was for the wild card game, with one exception: Yan Gomes is catching in place of Kurt Suzuki, continuing his trend of working with Corbin as he did for much of the season. That means Howie Kendrick and Asdrúbal Cabrera are starting on the right side of the infield, leaving Matt Adams, Ryan Zimmerman and Brian Dozier available off the bench.
