The DL move is retroactive to Monday.

Tolliver, 28, allowed two earned runs in 6 2/3 innings...
The Orioles need one more win for 1,000 at Camden Yards since the ballpark opened in 1992. The team is 999-959 at home.
Following Thursday's off-day, the Orioles host the Rays in a four-game series that includes Saturday's makeup doubleheader.
The Orioles are listing Yovani Gallardo as Friday night's starter, followed by Kevin Gausman and Chris Tillman on Saturday, and Tyler Wilson on Sunday.
The team is off again on Monday before opening a two-game series in San Diego.
The Rays are starting...
The Orioles' Gulf Coast League (GCL) team will play its first home game of the 2016 season at the Ed Smith Stadium complex on Friday, June 24, at 12:00 p.m. against the GCL Rays. The Orioles are scheduled to play 30 GCL home games between June 24 and August 31. The games are open to the public at no cost. Parking also is free and located in the East Lot at the corner of...
Left-hander Sammy Solis can be a viable option as interim closer for the Nationals.
Left-hander Sammy Solis can be a spot starter.
Both of these proclamations hold true.
Solis has swing-and-miss stuff in the mid-90s that can be a weapon in the ninth inning.
Solis also began his career as a starter. He logged 38 starts over 64 appearances while in the minor leagues.
He has already gone 1-2 with a 1.52 ERA in 19 appearances this season. In 23 2/3 innings, Solis has 29 strikeouts. His WHIP is an...
The season is nearly 45 percent complete, and the Nationals are leading their division by 4 1/2 games. Sure, the season is far from over, but they've got the fourth- best record in the league, and they look strong.
Individual players that usually come to mind as the reasons for this are probably Bryce Harper, Daniel Murphy, Wilson Ramos, Stephen Strasburg and Max Scherzer. And those guys are a huge part of it. But there's one player who doesn't get enough credit for what he's done for this...
In 2013, the Orioles wanted to make defense a priority, ranking ninth in the majors in Defensive Runs Saved with plus-24 DRS, and third in Ultimate Zone Rating with plus-39.9 UZR. They kept the trend in 2014, in which the club recorded a plus-57 DRS, good for third in the major leagues, and plus-54.8 UZR, which was second-highest in the majors.
However, in 2015, the club took steps in the wrong direction defensively, and has continued to do so in 2016. This year, the club ranks 20th in both DRS...
The Orioles have been resilient this year and they have to be that again now. The last two days, they've gone to Texas and back. They lost games to the Rangers and Padres by 4-3 and 10-7 scores. They held a three-run lead in each game, but could not win either.
Over the last three games, the Orioles have scored 21 runs on 44 hits, but they have won just one of those three games. But last night, every team in the American League East lost, so the Orioles remain in first place by one game over...
LOS ANGELES - This has turned into a more eventful trip - certainly more negative events - than the Nationals would have liked when they first arrived on the West Coast six days ago. After two well-played victories in San Diego to get the road trip started, they have now dropped four straight, two of them in games they led by multiple runs in the eighth inning.
Stephen Strasburg was scratched with an upper back strain. The bullpen is in a bad place right now with Jonathan Papelbon on the...
