Nationals recall Adrián Sanchez

The Washington Nationals recalled infielder Adrián Sanchez from Double-A Harrisburg and placed right-handed pitcher Kyle Barraclough on the 10-day Injured List with right radial nerve irritation on Sunday. Nationals President of Baseball Operations and General Manager Mike Rizzo made the announcement.

Sanchez, 28, joins the Nationals for his third Major League assignment of the season. He hit .287 with nine doubles, one triple, five homers, 16 RBI, five walks, five stolen bases and 20 runs scored in 35 games with the Senators. He has appeared at second base (19 G), third base (12 G), shortstop (8 G) and left field (1 G).

Sanchez was with the Major League club from April 29th to May 22nd going 4-for-16 (.250) with one run scored in 14 games. In 76 games across three Major League seasons (2017-19), Sanchez has hit .269 with nine doubles, one triple, 14 RBI and 14 runs scored. He has appeared at second base (24 G), third base (15 G), shortstop (8 G), first base (1 G) and left field (1 G).

Barraclough, 29, went 1-2 with a 6.39 ERA in 32 games out of Washington’s bullpen.
