Game 22 lineups: Nats at Rockies

DENVER - What a difference a day makes. It’s currently 20 degrees warmer at Coors Field than it was for last night’s series opener, and there isn’t a cloud in the sky, either. Now the Nationals have to hope the result on the field differs from last night as well.

After dropping that game 7-5 - their seventh loss in eight series openers so far this season - the Nats face another uphill climb and will need to win the next two games to return home with a series victory and a .500 record. And they’ll have to do it again without Anthony Rendon.

Rendon is out of the lineup for the third straight day, still feeling the effects of a pitch off his left elbow Saturday night in Miami. We’ll see if there’s any further update shortly, but you’ve got to think the team is one or two days away from needing to make a call on a possible injured list stint.

Corbin-Throws-Red-Sidebar.jpgThe lineup is the same as last night, except for Patrick Corbin, of course. The lefty makes his 12th career start at Coors Field, and this hasn’t been a welcome venue for him. He’s got a 6.55 ERA and 1.655 WHIP in this ballpark.
