Game 52 lineups: Nats vs. Marlins

Nobody would try to claim the Nationals solved all of their woes last night during a wild 12-10 victory over the Marlins. As Davey Martinez disgruntledly explained afterward, his team still played sloppy in the field and got plenty of shaky work out of its bullpen. So the season is hardly saved.

Juan Soto is on a tear, going 15-for-30 with eight extra-base hits. Eight days ago, he was batting .228 with a .759 OPS. He’s now batting .281 with a .902 OPS. Anthony Rendon has been on fire for a while. Matt Adams, like Soto, homered off a triple-digit fastball last night.

So the lineup will try to keep things going this afternoon against Marlins righty Sandy Alcantara. And Patrick Corbin will try to bounce back from one subpar start in New York and return to the form he displayed in nearly every one of his other starts so far this season.

Before the game, the Nationals recalled right-hander James Bourque from Double-A Harrisburg and optioned right-hander Joe Ross to Triple-A Fresno.
