Game 100 lineups: Nats at Phillies

In what is shaping up to be one of the most significant weeks in club history, the Nationals do still have games to play every night. It may be too late for their performance on the field to change the front office’s mind about what comes next, but they will be taking the field nonetheless and attempting to win a game against the Phillies.

Thumbnail image for Fedde-Deals-Gray-Sidebar.jpgLosers of five straight and 16 of their last 21, the Nats will try to get back on track tonight behind Erick Fedde, who was sharp last time out, allowing one unearned run to the Marlins. Like Joe Ross, who looked good Monday night, Fedde figures to be an important part of the remainder of this season as the organization tries to figure out who will make up the 2022 rotation. You have to assume he’s going to continue to pitch every fifth day, as long as he’s healthy.

With left-hander Matt Moore on the mound for the Phillies, manager Davey Martinez is going with his right-handed lineup. That does not include Ryan Zimmerman, however. Josh Bell continues to get the bulk of the starts, no matter the matchup. Carter Kieboom is at third base, though, with Josh Harrison in left field and Victor Robles in center field.
