District 34 podcast: NLDS Game 5 preview

It all comes down to this: Game 5 of the National League Division Series between the Nationals and Dodgers. The winner-take-all game doesn't start until 8 p.m. at Nats Park, so Byron Kerr and I have a preview episode of the District 34 podcast to get you ready for tonight's showdown.

With a chance to advance to face the Cubs in the NLCS, the Nationals need just one more over the Dodgers after splitting the first four games of this series. So how did we get here? What have the Nationals done well this series and what has gone wrong for them? What led them to their two victories in this series and what doomed them in their two losses? We will take a look back at the key moments and players so far in this series.

It will be Max Scherzer vs. Rich Hill on the mound, with Scherzer on full rest since his Game 1 start while Hill will be on short rest since starting a pushed-back Game 2. What does each pitcher need to accomplish in order to tame their respective opposing lineups tonight?

And of course, we'll also discuss the other players in this game, including Daniel Murphy, Bryce Harper, Ryan Zimmerman and the rest of the Nats' key players. We'll also look at Danny Espinosa's stuggles this postseason and figure out what he needs to do to turn it around for Game 5.

Plus, the matchup of the night might not even take place on the field, but rather in the dugout between managers Dusty Baker and Dave Roberts. The bullpens have played a major role in this series, so how each skipper manages their respective 'pens could be the deciding factor tonight.

We hope you enjoy this preview episode of District 34 to get you ready for tonight's game, and be sure to subscribe on iTunes and spread the word!
