Game 129: Nats at Mets

Erick Fedde (6-8, 4.91 ERA) has already set a career high in victories, innings pitched and strikeouts this season. Now he'll try to get a little closer to .500 and cement himself as a rotation piece for the Nationals next season.

The right-hander has gone 2-1 with a 3.52 ERA in his last three starts, winning his past two decisions after going 10 straight decisions without a victory.

He'll be making his fourth start of 2021 against the Mets, against whom he's 0-1 with a 2.81 ERA and 1.118 WHIP this season.

Current Mets own a .255/.354/.347 slash line against Fedde, with Michael Conforto doing most of the damage by going 5-for-11 with a home run and three RBIs off the righty. Pete Alonso is 3-for-9 with two doubles off him.

Rookie right-hander Tylor Megill (1-3, 4.07 ERA) is facing the Nats for the first time. He's lost three straight decisions and gave up seven runs on 11 hits in 3 2/3 innings against the Giants on Aug. 24 in his last start. No Nationals have ever batted against Megill.
