Game 59 lineups: Nats at White Sox

CHICAGO - They piled up 10 runs against John Moscot and the Reds bullpen. Then they piled up 10 runs against Mat Latos and the White Sox bullpen. Now the Nationals will try to keep their offensive surge going tonight against James Shields, the newest member of Chicago's rotation, plus this same relief corps.

Shields, acquired from the Padres over the weekend, is trying to rediscover the form that made him one of baseball's most consistent starters for years before things surprisingly fell apart in San Diego. Whether he can start the process already tonight remains to be seen.

scherzer-pitching-red-at-camden-yards-sidebar.jpgMax Scherzer starts for the Nationals, coming off a dominant outing in Philadelphia. The key, as it often is for the right-hander, is his ability to keep the ball in the park. This is a home run haven, and Scherzer has given up his share of them here in his career (12 in 12 starts) but he also has been successful in this ballpark, posting a career 3.39 ERA.

Tonight's DH for the Nationals is Daniel Murphy, who will get a chance to rest his legs but still get four (or more) at-bats. Stephen Drew gets the start at second base in his place.
