Golfers get chance to take a few strokes at Nats Park

Baseball fans who also happen to be golfers might wonder what it would be like to whack a few Titleists onto the lush, emerald green outfield of a big league ballpark.

Visitors to Nationals Park will get the chance to indulge that particular fantasy, virtually, Aug. 22-25 as Topgolf Crush comes to Washington.

Participants will tee off from the third base line and take aim at colorful targets on the field that will glow once the sun goes down. The mashup of the national pastime and "a good walk spoiled" provides the centerpiece of a four-day festival presented by Coca-Cola and sportswear company Black Clover.

Golfers and non-golfers alike can take part in the Topgolf Crush experience, which has participants swinging from hitting bays in the stands at the giant targets, anywhere from 60 to 140 yards away, on the field below. Each bay is fitted with panels that track the flight path and trajectory of the player's virtual shot and instantly score every shot in an interactive, in-ballpark game.

Festival-goers can take their choice from numerous food and beverage options and enjoy live music before or after their tee times, which will be scheduled in one-hour increments. Limited-edition Topgolf Crush merchandise will be available for purchase, and attendees can find additional entertainment options for all ages.

Prices for Topgolf Crush start at $50, but $110 buys a VIP ticket, which includes access to a hospitality area, food vouchers, drink tickets, a limited-edition Topgolf Crush Nationals Park hat provided by Black Clover, a complimentary Topgolf lifetime membership and a $10 game-play voucher redeemable at any U.S. Topgolf location, excluding Topgolf Las Vegas. Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday, June 14 at nationals.com/Topgolf.
