Military Appreciation Night launches 2011 Patriotic Series

As part of tonight's Military Appreciation Night, the Washington Nationals are proud to offer free tickets to service members and their families to watch the team take on the defending World Series Champion San Francisco Giants beginning at 7:05 p.m. Military personnel with a valid military ID (active or retired) can receive up to four complimentary tickets to tonight's game, available for pick up at the Grand Staircase Box Office on First Street, SE beginning at 5:30 p.m. Those wishing to secure tickets prior to that time can do so at the Main Box Office during non-game hours. In conjunction with tonight's festivities, the Nationals will introduce the 2011 Patriotic Series, a series of games during which the team will feature special ticket offers to encourage fans to celebrate the American spirit by enjoying the national pastime at Nationals Park. Tonight also marks the debut of the Nationals patriotic uniforms featuring the stars and stripes Curly "W," which will be worn during every game of the Patriotic Series. Military Appreciation Night will serve as the first of five home games of the Patriotic Series. The remaining Patriotic Days include: * Memorial Day - May 30 against the Philadelphia Phillies * Independence Day - July 4 against the Chicago Cubs * Labor Day - Sept. 5 against the Los Angeles Dodgers * Heroes Day - Sept. 11 against the Houston Astros In recognition of their continuous service to this country, tickets will be donated to service members and their families as well as police officers and firefighters on remaining Patriotic Days throughout the season. All fans are eligible to take advantage of special ticket offers for these four games in the following seating locations: * Upper Infield Gallery - $10 per seat * LF/RF Mezzanine - $20 per seat with $6 food/beverage credit * LF/RF Corner - $25 per seat with $10 food/beverage credit * LF/RF Baseline Reserved - $40 per seat with $15 food/beverage credit The Nationals plan to incorporate a variety of creative gameday elements during each game of the Patriotic Series to pay tribute to those who risk their lives to protect this country. These efforts will supplement the various patriotic programs already in effect, including the third inning military salute during every game and the "Me and a Friend" initiative, which offers military children complimentary tickets for themselves and friends to enjoy each Sunday home game.
