Nationals announce Read Like A Champion Summer Reading Program

The Washington Nationals are proud to announce the Read Like A Champion Summer Reading program. For the last seven years, the Washington Nationals have partnered with area libraries to address the "summer slide" - the loss of learning that children and teens experience when they do not read during summer vacation - and to bring the joys of reading to as many homes as possible.

Since the program first began, almost 100,000 participants have logged over 300,000 hours of reading and the program is only growing. What began with a single library partner has now expanded to include municipal library systems in D.C., Maryland and Virginia.

This year, the Nationals are proud to support the efforts of our library partners through nationals.com/SummerReading, which will host information on the summer reading programs offered by the Nationals' library partners, as well as reading content featuring Nationals players. Participants in the program will have a chance to win exciting Nationals prizes.

The Nationals invite all interested library systems, both those that have worked with the Nationals in the past and those who are interested in forming new partnerships, to work together to make the Nationals and their fans the "Team that Reads!"
