Nationals reinstate Kyle McGowin and Austin Voth

The Washington Nationals made the following roster moves on Sunday. Nationals President of Baseball Operations and General Manager Mike Rizzo made the announcements.

· Returned from rehabilitation assignment and reinstated right-handed pitcher Kyle McGowin from the 10-day Injured List

· Returned from rehabilitation assignment and reinstated right-handed pitcher Austin Voth from the Injured List

· Designated right-handed pitcher Javy Guerra for assignment

· Optioned outfielder Andrew Stevenson to Triple-A Rochester

McGowin, 29, posted a 4.56 ERA in 22 relief appearances prior to being placed on the Injured List on July 11 (strained right biceps). He recorded 29 strikeouts and 12 walks in 2021. McGowin appeared in nine rehab outings for Triple-A Rochester, going 1-0 with a 0.93 ERA and 10 strikeouts in 9.2 innings pitched.

Voth, 29, went 3-0 with four holds and a 4.81 ERA in 33 games out of Washington's bullpen prior to being placed on the Injured List on July 29. He tallied 42 strikeouts against 17 walks along the way. From June 6 to July 11, he tossed scoreless relief in 10 of 12 outings, posting a .190 opponents' batting average and 12 strikeouts in 12.2 innings pitched.

In two games for Triple-A Rochester while on rehab assignment, Voth allowed two hits with four strikeouts and one walk in 3.0 scoreless innings.

Guerra, 35, went 0-1 with a 16.50 ERA in six relief appearances for the Nationals in 2021.

Stevenson, 27, hit .215 with five doubles, three homers, 15 RBI, one stolen base and 17 runs scored in 80 games for the Nationals in 2021.
