Out of the Park: The blizzard, Throwback Tuesday and new attire

Well, Winter Storm Jonas came through the area last weekend and crushed D.C. like Bryce Harper crushes fastballs. It also crushed MASN broadcaster F.P. Santangelo's elbow from all the snow it left for shoveling.

Although Jonas left everyone stuck in their houses and exhausted from shoveling almost three feet of snow, the storm also left a pretty scene at Nationals Park.

Do you think all that snow will melt by the Nationals' home opener on April 7? My guess is no, but whatever is left will be moved so we have a more spring-like feel for baseball's return.

Harper revealed a new suit last weekend, and no, it wasn't a snow suit. Ever the sharp dresser, the National League Most Valuable Player wore a custom-made MVP suit to accept his hardware last weekend.

Santangelo had a nice #TBT this week, although it was more of a Throwback Tuesday, while watching "The Colorful Montreal Expos" on MLB Network on Tuesday night. Santangelo played four of his seven seasons as a major leaguer in Montreal.

Of course, the Montreal franchise eventually moved to D.C., which is why Harper is now having late night thoughts such as this:

Enough said.

News broke yesterday that Doug Fister signed a one-year deal with the Houston Astros, making his depature from the Nats official. Two of MASN's own, who worked with Fister a lot over his two-year career in D.C., wished him well.

Another announcement came yesterday as we got our first look at what the Nats will wear in spring training this year.

I can see a lot has changed - but that does bring us one step closer to baseball!

Bonus: A third announcement came yesterday as the Nats put out a reminder that tickets go on sale this morning at 10 a.m. for Billy Joel's concert at Nats Park, so be sure to grab yours while you can!

I wonder how Michael A. Taylor feels about Billy Joel taking his number ...
