A few random updates (w/game update)

Chris Tillman got in a little trouble in the second inning, surrendering a leadoff single to Robinson Cano and walking Jorge Posada, but he retired the next three batters to keep the game scoreless. Tillman has thrown 34 pitches. The Orioles wasted a scoring opportunity in the first inning - stop me if you've heard this one - after Julio Lugo walked with the count full. After Miguel Tejada struck out, Lugo broke too soon on a stolen base attempt and was an easy out. Naturally, Nick Markakis followed with a ground-rule double to center field. Ty Wigginton struck out to end the inning. Game update: I wrote earlier today that Garrett Atkins was 7-for-13 lifetime against CC Sabathia. He produced an RBI single in the second inning. Orioles 1, Yankees 0. The Orioles selected 23 pitchers and 26 position players in the draft that concluded today. Thirty-four of their 49 picks were college players. They took four left-handed pitchers and 19 right-handers, seven catchers, one first baseman, one second baseman, three third basemen, seven shortstops and seven outfielders. Nolan Reimold is starting in left field tonight at Triple-A Norfolk after sitting out the last two games. I guess it was nothing serious. Double-A Bowie's game at Binghamton was postponed because of rain. Nationals left-hander Ross Detwiler is facing Single-A Frederick tonight on an injury-rehab assignment with Potomac. He's allowed three hits and struck out two in two scoreless innings. Your latest Jake Arrieta facts: He went 6-2 with a 1.85 ERA in 12 games (11 starts) at Norfolk. He registered eight quality starts. Left-handers batted .186 (21-113) against him, and right-handers batted .191 (27-141). All three homers he allowed were to right-handed batters. Here are the pitching matchups for the weekend series against the Mets: Friday: Jeremy Guthrie (3-6, 3.71 ERA) vs. R.A. Dickey (3-0, 3.20 ERA) Saturday: Brian Matusz (2-6, 5.10 ERA) vs. Hisanori Takahashi (4-2, 3.80 ERA) Sunday: Kevin Millwood (0-7, 4.64 ERA) vs. Mike Pelfrey (8-1, 2.23 ERA)
