At least there's this... (updated)

If it makes you feel any better, Adam Jones has hit safely in eight straight games, going 10-for-28 and raising his average to .258. He's hit in 19 of his last 20, going 26-for-75 (.347). Well, I tried. The Orioles trail, 6-3, in the bottom of the fourth. Kevin Millwood has allowed six runs and nine hits, and he's thrown 77 pitches. If it makes you feel any better, he struck out two of the three batters he faced in the fourth. Well, I tried. Scott Moore just reached on an infield hit, making him 2-for-2. Nothing wrong with giving him more starts at second base, though I liked a reader's suggestion that Moore could at least occasionally flip-flop positions with Ty Wigginton. Let Moore play some first and put Wigginton at second. It isn't a Gold Glove left side of the infield, but that combination doesn't exist on this roster. And this is a good time to evaluate Moore, since, you know, the Orioles are challenging the '62 Mets for the worst record in modern history. Corey Patterson has two hits, a sacrifice bunt and a stolen base. He's held onto that leadoff spot longer than many fans anticipated. Well, I tried. Update: Jason Bay homered in the fifth, increasing New York's lead to 7-3. Bay has four homers and 25 RBIs, the same amount as Angel Pagan. Just thought it was worth mentioning.
