Cla Meredith's demotion to Triple-A Norfolk hasn't done much for his career. Meredith was tagged with a blown save today after allowing two runs and two hits, and walking three batters, in two-thirds of an inning. His ERA is up to 16.85. Mike Hinckley took the loss against Columbus after allowing a run in the bottom of the 10th. Starter Brandon Erbe surrendered two runs and three hits in five-plus innings and remains winless at the Triple-A level. Josh Bell went 2-for-4 with a walk, RBI and run scored, and is batting .266. Double-A Bowie's Chorye Spoone didn't get the decision today in a 3-2 win over Harrisburg despite allowing only two runs over seven innings, with two walks and seven strikeouts. He's sporting a 3.75 ERA. Pat Egan got the win with two scoreless innings, improving his record to 6-1. Jacob Julius, playing first base for Single-A Frederick, went 2-for-5 with two doubles in a 5-4, 10-inning win over Salem. He's batting .296. Kyle Hudson went 2-for-5 with two RBIs. The Keys won the game when Greg Miclat doubled, took third on a sacrifice and scored on Buck Britton's bunt single.
