Game 78 lineups: Nats vs. Rays

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. - The Nationals look to rebound after a very difficult 11-0 loss to open their series against the Rays. The game was dominated by Tampa Bay. Left-hander Gio Gonzalez struggled in facing only 11 batters, allowing six runs. The offense did not fare any better against left-hander Blake Snell, getting only one hit in the seventh inning.

His last victory was against the Rays in D.C. back in early June. With 11 more strikeouts, Scherzer will become the 11th pitcher in major league history to record at least 1,000 strikeouts with two different teams.

The Rays counter with right-hander Nathan Eovaldi (1-3, 4.91 ERA). The Nats will have Daniel Murphy back in the lineup after a day off. His two-run single against the Phillies lifted the Nats to an 8-6 comeback win Sunday night.
