Go West, old umpire (w/game update)

Tonight's attendance: 11,448. Adam Jones has three hits and an RBI. Luke Scott has homered and doubled. Some guys really want to stay up here. Plate umpire Joe West, on a crusade to speed up the games, grew agitated with Orioles third baseman Miguel Tejada in the sixth inning. Tejada had the nerve to walk to the mound between outs so he could dig the mud out of his spikes and say a few words to Brad Bergesen. West yelled at Tejada, who returned to third base, and stared him down after the last out as Tejada jogged to the dugout. Really, Joe? If I'm the manager, I'm flying out of the dugout and telling West to keep his mouth shut. Yell at one of my players, who didn't say a word to him? Not a chance. And then I'm getting tossed from the game. A 5-0 lead might improve my mood, but only a little. Game update: Bergesen came out of the game with two outs in eighth inning after allowing his first run in two starts. Ichiro Suzuki singled with two outs, stole second - which I found odd with a five-run deficit - and raced home on Chone Figgins' single to left. Corey Patterson tried to field the ball with his bare hand and couldn't hold onto it. Bergesen allowed five hits, walked two and struck out three. He threw 102 pitches and left to a nice ovation. SPOILER ALERT: Josh Bell singled off Drew Storen in the seventh inning for Triple-A Norfolk's first hit.
Orioles 5, Mariners 2
