In the top of the first, Nationals right fielder Adam Eaton made an outstanding defensive play, catching a fly ball off the bat of Brian Anderson by jumping against the right field foul line wall to end the inning.

Starlin Castro delivered an RBI single, which was followed by a two-run double from Austin Dean.

The Nationals answered in the bottom of the third against Marlins starter José Ureña.

Matt Wieters doubled to lead off the frame. Gonzalez laid down a sacrifice bunt to get Wieters to third. Eaton then drilled a double to score Wieters. It looked like Eaton had a good shot to get to third for a triple, but he was gunned down on a nice throw from right fielder Rafael Ortega to J.T. Realmuto and then onto Brian Anderson.

Anderson tagged out Eaton at third base. Eaton got credit for an RBI double. Trea Turner flew out to center field to end the threat.

After three innings, the Marlins lead the Nats 3-1.
