Harvey on injured list (and lineups)

The Orioles placed reliever Hunter Harvey on the 10-day injured list this afternoon with a strained right lat and recalled left-hander Zac Lowther from Triple-A Norfok. Manager Brandon Hyde said Harvey will miss a month of the season.

Harvey had to stop warming Wednesday night in Houston due to the discomfort and he underwent tests that revealed the injury. He began the season on the IL with a strained oblique.

Lowther has appeared in three games with the Orioles as a rookie, making one start, and allowed nine runs and 11 hits in 5 1/3 innings. He was pulled from Norfolk's rotation to make him available to the Orioles.

Third baseman Maikel Franco sprained his ankle chasing the final out Wednesday night, but he remains on the active roster. He isn't in tonight's lineup for the series opener against the Angels in Anaheim.

Franco is day-to-day. However, Hyde said reliever Travis Lakins Sr. has a signficant elbow injury.

Domingo Leyba is starting at third base, Pat Valaika at second and Ramón Urías at shortstop.

Austin Hays is in left field and Anthony Santander in right. Ryan Mountcastle, the American League Rookie of the Month for June, is the first baseman.
