Information on Orioles spring report dates and exhibition schedule

With the uncertainty of the 2021 season swirling in the air, Major League Baseball nonetheless has released the spring training schedule in hopes of a return to baseball normalcy.

Orioles pitchers and catchers will report to the Ed Smith Stadium complex on Feb. 16, with position players set to arrive by Feb. 21. The first full-squad workout will be held the following day.

The first exhibition game will be played on Feb. 27 against the Braves in Sarasota.

There are 16 home dates on the schedule, with the last on March 27 against the Twins.

The Orioles will face nine different major league opponents at home, including the Red Sox, Yankees, Rays, Twins, Braves, Pirates and Phillies twice. The Blue Jays and Tigers each make one visit.

Two trips will be made to the complexes belonging to the Red Sox, Yankees, Rays, Tigers, Twins, Braves and Pirates. Atlanta has moved from Disney to nearby North Port.

The Orioles also travel once each to Dunedin to play the Blue Jays and Clearwater to play the Phillies.

There are three split-squad dates - Feb. 28 at home against the Rays and in Fort Myers against the Twins, March 17 at home against the Red Sox and in Lakeland against the Tigers, and March 24 at home against the Braves and in Bradenton against the Pirates.

The final exhibition game is March 28 versus the Red Sox in Fort Myers.

The only off-day for the Orioles is March 10.

Opening day is April 1 against the Red Sox at Fenway Park, followed by three games against the Yankees in the Bronx. The first home game is April 8 versus the Red Sox.

The 2021 season marks the 12th consecutive year of Orioles spring training in Sarasota and 11th at the renovated Ed Smith Stadium.
