L.J. Hoes to host fourth annual "Gift of Joy" toy drive on Saturday, Dec. 19

Baltimore Orioles outfielder L.J. Hoes will host his fourth annual "Gift of Joy" Toy Drive on Saturday, December 19, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. ET at Dave & Buster's in the Arundel Mills Mall (7000 Arundel Mills Circle #1, Hanover, MD 21076). The event will benefit St. Ann's Center for Children, Youth, and Families in Hyattsville, MD.

The toy drive will feature a memorabilia raffle and giveaway, a silent auction, and a guest appearance by the Oriole Bird. To gain entry into the event, guests are encouraged to show their support by donating a toy or making a donation of at least $10.

Hoes, born in Washington, D.C., was originally selected by the Orioles in the 2008 First-Year Player Draft and appeared in games for Baltimore during the 2012 and 2013 seasons. He was recently re-acquired by the Orioles in late November. This will be his fourth year as host of the event in the D.C./Maryland area.

"I feel very fortunate to be in a position to help others, especially in my own hometown. St. Ann's Center for Children, Youth, and Families is a great organization that I've always felt very close to, and provides me with a great opportunity to impact local families," said Hoes. "This event is the highlight of my holiday season each and every year, and coming home to Baltimore makes it even better."

For over 150 years, St. Ann's Center for Children, Youth and Families has been committed to serving the needs of our community's most vulnerable young women and children. St. Ann's Center provides young families with support and guidance in an enriching environment so they can achieve independent living and self-sufficiency.
