Orioles Announce 2010 Spring Training Schedule

The Orioles will open their first season at Ed Smith Stadium in Sarasota with a game against the Tampa Bay Rays on Wednesday, March 3, the first of 16 home games the club will play as part of their 2010 spring schedule. Next year will be the first time the club has trained in Sarasota since 1995. The team spent the last 14 seasons in Fort Lauderdale. Baltimore will face 10 different opponents at home during the '10 spring campaign. They will host the Boston Red Sox three times at Ed Smith Stadium, and the New York Yankees, Tampa Bay Rays, Pittsburgh Pirates and Minnesota Twins two times each. The Florida Marlins, Philadelphia Phillies, Toronto Blue Jays, Detroit Tigers and New York Mets will each make one trip to Sarasota. The Birds will play two road dates each against the New York Yankees, Boston, Tampa Bay, Minnesota, Toronto and Philadelphia. They will visit the spring training sites for Detroit, Pittsburgh, Florida and St. Louis one time each. The Orioles will play their last 2010 spring training game in Sarasota on Saturday, April 3 against the New York Mets. The club will hold a team workout at Ed Smith Stadium on Sunday, April 4 and a workout at Tropicana Field on Monday, April 5 prior to their 2010 Opening Day game against the Tampa Bay Rays on Tuesday, April 6 in St. Petersburg. Individual tickets for all 16 spring training games at Ed Smith Stadium will go on sale on Saturday, January 16 at 10 a.m. Fans interested in season, multi-game or group ticket plans, or those wishing to receive additional spring training ticket information may call the Orioles spring training office at 941-954-4101. Spring training tickets for Orioles home games at Ed Smith Stadium may be purchased in the following ways: IN PERSON: Individual game tickets can be purchased in person at the Orioles Box Office at Ed Smith Stadium located at 12th Street and Tuttle Avenue in Sarasota. The Box Office will be open beginning January 16 at 10 a.m. and will then be open Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., from January 18 through February 5. Beginning February 8, the Box Office will be open seven days a week, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. THROUGH THE INTERNET: Tickets can be purchased at the Orioles' official website, www.orioles.com.
