Orioles lineup vs. Blue Jays

The Orioles begin the final series of the 2022 season tonight with the Blue Jays arriving in town.

They won’t have Félix Bautista available in the bullpen. He’s been shut down with lingering soreness in his left knee. A roster move is coming.

Gunnar Henderson is the third baseman tonight and Terrin Vavra is in left field. Kyle Stowers is in right.

Dean Kremer has a 3.17 ERA and 1.257 WHIP in 21 games (20 starts). He’s surrendered only 10 home runs in 119 1/3 innings, though two came in his last start in Boston.

Kremer has allowed six earned runs and seven total in 18 innings against Toronto this season.

It was announced earlier today that Kremer will represent Team Israel in next year’s World Baseball Classic.

Vladimir Guerrero Jr. is 5-for-13 with a double and three home runs against Kremer. Santiago Espinal is 5-for-7, but he’s on the 10-day injured list with an oblique strain.

Guerrero is a career .331/.380/.634 hitter against the Orioles, with 13 doubles, 21 home runs and 52 RBIs in 61 games.

José Berríos has made 31 starts for the Blue Jays and registered a 5.37 ERA and 1.434 WHIP. His 196 hits allowed are tied with Jordan Lyles for most in the American League, and his 99 earned runs are first.

Berríos is 2-0 with a 3.32 ERA and 1.158 WHIP in three starts against the Orioles this season, and he’s 8-0 with a 3.04 ERA and 1.127 WHIP in 11 career starts.

Ryan Mountcastle is 2-for-10 with two home runs against Berríos. Adley Rutschman is 6-for-9 with two doubles and a home run.

Bo Bichette has hit six home runs in 16 games against the Orioles this season.

The Orioles and Blue Jays have split 16 games against each other this season.

Orioles manager Brandon Hyde hasn’t settled on Wednesday’s starter. Lyles is a possibility, or it could be a bullpen game.
