Orioles lineup vs. Rays

Austin Hays remains in the Orioles’ lineup this afternoon after being hit last night on the right wrist. He’s leading off and playing left field, with Cedric Mullins on the bench.

Hays has the wrist wrapped but said the ball caught muscle instead of bone. A bit lower than the last time he was drilled by a slider.

Robinson Chirinos is catching. Adley Rutschman is on the bench.

Tyler Nevin is the third baseman and Ryan McKenna is in center field.

Jordan Lyles has started twice against the Rays this season and allowed 11 runs and 13 hits in 7 2/3 innings.

Jorge Mateo hit a game-tying home run in the ninth inning and is batting .355/.355/.613 during an eight-game hitting streak.

Left-hander Ryan Yarbrough is making his 11th appearance and eighth start. He’s 0-5 with a 5.61 ERA and 1.523 WHIP in 43 1/3 innings. He tossed four relief innings on May 20 at Camden Yards and allowed one earned run and two total, and he started on July 16 at Tropicana Field and allowed two runs in 5 1/3.

This is Yarbrough’s 16th career game against the Orioles. He’s registered a 3.89 ERA and 1.195 WHIP in 78 2/3 innings.

Trey Mancini is 11-for-29 with four doubles and three home runs against Yarbrough. He wonders whether today is his last game in an Orioles uniform at Camden Yards.

Mancini broke out of an 0-for-26 slump last night with two hits.
