Orioles to host insider evening benefitting arts and music education

The Orioles today announced that ahead of the first-ever concert at Oriole Park at Camden Yards, featuring Billy Joel on Friday, July 26, the club will host an invitation-only benefit on Thursday, July 25.

The event, which benefits arts and music education for Baltimore-area students through the Orioles Charitable Foundation, will take place on the sixth floor of the Warehouse from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. ET. The night will feature cocktails and music followed by dessert on the Flag Court accompanied by a performance from jazz saxophonists Ebban and Ephraim Dorsey, students from the Baltimore School for the Arts (BSA). BSA serves the community through TWIGS, a free after-school and Saturday arts program that serves more than 700 Baltimore City children in grades 2-8 each year. TWIGS offers free classes in dance, vocal and instrumental music, stage production and design, visual arts, and visual storytelling.

Kalel Adell, from the Youth in Business program at Intersection of Change, will DJ the reception. Additionally, students from Youth in Business will be selling limited edition Piano Bird shirts to benefit their program at Intersection of Change, which is dedicated to providing programs that enrich the economic, social and spiritual lives of those dealing with poverty-related issues in West Baltimore and surrounding communities.

The exclusive night will also include special performances by the Zac Brown Band's hit songwriting duo Yesterday's Wine, featuring Wyatt Durrette and Levi Lowrey, along with artists Queen V and Margaret Valentine.

The Orioles are committed to supporting arts education, hosting a collection of events throughout the season in both Baltimore and their Spring Training home of Sarasota, Fla., including the Athletes & Artists Play for Kids weekend in Sarasota. Additionally, the Orioles Charitable Foundation will donate a portion of the proceeds from the sale of tickets to the Billy Joel concert to support music and arts education programs for kids in Maryland and across the Orioles' regional territory.
