Post-game Notes: Sox win again vs. O's

Nolan Reimold went 2 for 3 with a double and run scored in Saturday's loss. Reimold is 5 for 6 in this series with two doubles, two runs and two walks. He has increased his average from .259 to .277 the last two days. David Ortiz started the Boston scoring with a three-run homer in the first inning. His 13th of the year came on a 1-0 pitch from Jeremy Guthrie. It was his 25th career homer vs. Baltimore pitching. He has homered more vs. only three teams. He has 34 homers vs. Tampa, his most vs. any club. The O's fall to a season worst 14 games under .500. Jon Lester beat the Orioles for the third time in three starts this year. He is 3-0, 0.84 on the season vs. the Birds, giving up just 2ER and 17 hits over 21 1/3 innings. In 11 career starts vs. the Birds, Lester is 9-0, 2.20. More Road Woes - The Birds fall to 1-7 on the road trip. They are 0-5 at Boston this year and has lost their last 11 games at Fenway Park. They are a combined 0-12 this year at Boston and New York. They have lost 14 of their last 18 road contests to fall to 15-34 on the season away from Baltimore. The O's are just 1-16 this year in AL East road games and are just 2-27 in the last 29 games on the road in the division. After the O's scored 21 runs in the first three games of this trip at Chicago, they have plated just 12 runs over the last five games, all losses. In the five games, the team average is .242 (41 for 169) and the Birds have just 10 extra-base hits. In tonight's game, Adam Jones, Nick Markakis and Aubrey Huff went a combined 1 for 14 at bat. Huff has just one hit in his last 20 at bats and is a 8 for 62 slump with just two RBI over his last 15 games. The Sox had scored just 16 runs in seven games in the second-half before coming up with seven tonight. Boston is 3-5 since the All-Star break.
