Post-game Notes: Twins with walk-off win

The Orioles have played eight games on their current road trip and five of those have been decided by one run. The O's are 2-3 in those games. They have lost the first two games in this series vs. the Twins by 2-1 and 7-6 scores. The O's have lost nine of their last 12 games decided by one run and are 14-18 on the year in one-run decisions. Micheal Aubrey went 1 for 3 with a two-run double and 3 RBI tonight. He is now 5 for 12 and has hit safely in all five of his games with the Orioles. Nolan Reimold went 2 for 4 with a double. He is 10 for 31 (.323) on this road trip and, since the All-Star break is batting .303-3-15 with 8 doubles. Not this time - The O's bullpen, which had worked to an ERA of 0.90 coming into tonight, on this road trip, gave up five hits and four runs in this game over 3 2/3 innings. Brian Bass allowed all five batters he faced to reach base and three scored. Kam Mickolio gave up a run for the first time all year at the Major League level and took tonight's loss. Minnesota improved to .500 at 63-63 with a season-high fifth consecutive win. The Twins are 2-0 on this homestand and 7-1 over their past eight games. Minnesota, now 18-18 on the year in one-run games, is 2-2 on the season vs. the Orioles with the final game of the year between these teams set for Wednesday night. The last three games played between these teams this year have been one-run games. The Orioles fall to 1-10-1 in their last 11 series and have lost 8 of 11 and 25 of the last 35 games. Not his night either - Brian Roberts, batting .381 over his previous 14 games, went 0 for 5 tonight. Roberts is 11-33/4/9 on this road trip. Luke Scott's RBI single in the 6th produced his 59th RBI of the year, but just his 2nd in the last 12 games. Melvin Mora went 1 for 3 after beginning the game in a 1 for 21 slump. On the Farm - In the minors tonight, Jeff Fiorentino had a triple, homer and 3 RBI in Norfolk's 12-5 win over Rochester. Paco Figueroa had three hits, including two doubles as Akron beat Bowie. Figueroa is batting .312. Zach Britton improved to 9-6, 2.74 as Frederick beat Kinston, 6-1. Over seven innings, Britton gave up just five hits and one run.
