Remembering 2010: Nationals have chance to turn tables on Phillies

The Phillies defeated the Nationals 8-0 on September 27, 2010, before 14,309 at Nationals Park, to clinch the NL East crown. The Nationals managed just two hits that day, as Roy Halladay tossed a complete game for his 21st win. A look back at the starting lineups that day: Phillies Victorino CF Polanco 3B Utley 2B Howard 1B Werth RF Ibanez LF Ruiz C Valdez SS Halladay P Subs: Wilson Nationals Espinosa 2B Morgan CF Desmond SS Dunn 1B Morse RF Bernadina LF Ramos C Gonzalez 3B Lannan P Subs: Mench, Kennedy Relievers: Stammen, Balester, Binsenius, Batista In the clinching win for the Phillies, then-Philadelphia right fielder Jayson Werth went 3-for-5 with a solo homer, two-run double and RBI single for four RBIs and two runs scored. It was the fourth consecutive season the Phillies had won the NL East. In 2007 and 2008, the Nationals watched as the Phillies clinched the division against them in Philadelphia. In 2010, it was at Nationals Park. What a difference two years make. Flash forward to October 1, 2012 for the starting lineups for the first of three games at Nationals Park between the Phillies and Nationals: Phillies Frandsen 3B Mayberry Jr. CF Utley 2B Ruiz C Wigginton 1B Brown RF Ruf LF Martinez SS Kendrick P Nationals Werth RF Harper CF Zimmerman 3B LaRoche 1B Morse LF Desmond SS Espinosa 2B Suzuki C Lannan P The Phillies run of five consecutive N.L. East crowns will come to an end this season. It could happen Monday night in D.C.
