Zach Britton was scheduled to go two innings in today's intrasquad game in Sarasota. Kevin Millwood allowed a hit and walk through two innings, striking out four consecutive batters. David Hernandez will be on a 50-pitch limit today in Fort Myers. Nolan Reimold will serve as the designated hitter again tomorrow, giving him consecutive starts. The club is hoping he'll get seven at-bats over the two days. Felix Pie is supposed to hit and throw today and might return to the lineup for Saturday's split-squad game. Mike Gonzalez is tentatively scheduled to pitch tomorrow, but he could throw a sideline session today and be held back until Thursday. Matt Wieters is catching Kevin Millwood today. He'll also be behind the plate tomorrow, batting cleanup, and serve as the DH on Thursday. Manager Dave Trembley will begin taking Wieters deeper into games. He's scheduled to play seven innings tomorrow and will catch in back-to-back games Saturday and Sunday. He might be allowed to catch all nine innings on Sunday. The Triple-A and Double-A games begin tomorrow.
