Orioles lineup against Yankees (Tillman update, Arietta recalled)

Not much changes with the Orioles’ lineup these days.

Does this one look familiar?

For the Orioles:
Nick Markakis RF
J.J. Hardy SS
Nate McLouth LF
Adam Jones CF
Matt Wieters C
Mark Reynolds 1B
Chris Davis DH
Manny Machado 3B
Robert Andino 2B

Wei-Yin Chen LHP

The Orioles have 12 extra-base hits against the Yankees in the last four games, all of them home runs.

Reynolds has eight homers in his last seven games. He’s 3-for-9 with a double, two homers and five RBIs lifetime against Phil Hughes.

Markakis is 13-for-39 (.333) with three doubles, a homer and six RBIs against Hughes. Jones is 6-for-31 (.194) with two doubles and a home run.

Wilson Betemit, who remains on the bench tonight, is 5-for-10 with a home run against Hughes.

Wieters is batting .404/.477/.667 with three doubles, four homers and eight RBIs in 15 games against the Yankees this season.

Update: Chris Tillman played catch yesterday after having his right elbow examined by team orthopedist Dr. John Wilckens, and he long tossed from 120 feet today before batting practice.

Tillman said he might throw off a mound Saturday.

Tillman simulated his delivery on flat ground today and said his elbow felt “really, really good.”

Update II: The Orioles have officially recalled Jake Arrieta.

Arrieta is 3-9 with a 6.13 ERA in 18 starts with the Orioles this season. He pitched to a 1.82 ERA in his final four starts with the Tides, striking out 31 batters.
