Looking ahead at the pitching schedule

SARASOTA, Fla. - Miguel Gonzalez is scheduled to throw four innings today at the minor league complex at Twin Lakes Park. Manager Buck Showalter prefers to keep his projected starters away from the Orioles’ division rivals, though there’s plenty of video floating around these days.

Zach Britton, T.J. McFarland, Luis Ayala and Mark Hendrickson will pitch today against the Boston Red Sox at Ed Smith Stadium. The Red Sox brought Clayton Mortenson, Alex Wilson, Chris Hernandez and former Orioles farmhand Oscar Villarreal.

Jake Arrieta, Troy Patton, Daniel Schlereth and Adam Russell will make the trip to Dunedin Saturday to face the Toronto Blue Jays, who are starting left-hander J.A. Happ again.

The Orioles keep getting Happ or Mark Buehrle.

Steve Johnson, Jair Jurrjens, Jim Johnson and Darren O’Day will pitch against the Minnesota Twins Sunday in Sarasota. The Twins will start Vane Worley.

The Orioles have split-squad games that day, so Jason Hammel, Tommy Hunter and Todd Redmond will pitch against the Philadelphia Phillies in Clearwater. The Phillies are listing Roy Halladay,, Jonathan Papelbon, Justin DeFratus and Zach Miner as their pitchers.
