Pregame notes from Camden Yards

Lots of nuggets from today’s session with manager Buck Showalter. Your world won’t be rocked, but it may jiggle a little.

Showalter expects the Orioles to have a resolution on the Manny Machado suspension by the end of the week.

Showalter said 90 percent of the reason why Chris Davis isn’t starting tonight is he wanted Delmon Young in the lineup. Showalter also confirmed that Davis will return to the lineup Tuesday night against White Sox left-hander Jose Quintana.

That one should have been obvious.

Bud Norris will throw a bullpen session on Wednesday and could start Game 2 of Friday night’s doubleheader or Saturday afternoon’s game.

Kevin Gausman will report to Double-A Bowie and likely throw a bullpen session on Wednesday before starting Game 1 on Friday. He’s fine physically after today’s 23-pitch start at Triple-A Norfolk.

Outfielder Francisco Peguero cleared waivers and was outrighted to Norfolk. Peguero was out of minor league options and had completed his injury rehab assignment.

Dylan Bundy will make his third start Friday at short-season Single-A Aberdeen and likely report to Single-A Delmarva or Single-A Frederick to continue his injury rehab assignment.

The Orioles must make a decision on Nolan Reimold by Sunday. He’s out of minor league options and his rehab assignment concludes this weekend.

Minor league hitting coordinator Jeff Manto has joined the club for the next three nights. He served as the White Sox’s hitting coach the past two seasons.

Chris Tillman has been selected as the AT&T Fans’ Choice Bobblehead. The first 25,000 fans 15 and over attending the Sept. 21 game against the Red Sox at Camden Yards will receive the Tillman bobblehead.

The voting concluded May 12, with Tillman beating out pitchers Tommy Hunter, Ubaldo Jimenez and Darren O’Day. This will be Tillman’s first bobblehead with the Orioles.
