Minor league news and tonight’s lineup

SARASOTA, Fla. - The Orioles announced their minor league managers, coaches and staff earlier today, including the previously reported hiring of John Wasdin as minor league pitching coordinator, Buck Britton as Single-A Delmarva’s hitting coach coach, Mark Hendrickson as short-season Single-A Aberdeen’s pitching coach and Carlos Tosca as Gulf Coast League Orioles manager.

Wasdin replaces Rick Peterson, who held the title of director of pitching development since January 2012.

Britton is a former infielder in the Orioles system and the older brother of Orioles closer Zach Britton. Hendrickson spent 10 seasons in the majors, his last three with the Orioles. Tosca managed the Blue Jays from 2002-04 and later served as bench coach with the Marlins and Braves.

Ron Johnson returns for his sixth season as Triple-A Norfolk manager, along with Gary Kendal for his seventh season as Double-A Bowie manager, Keith Bodie for his second season as Single-A Frederick manager, Ryan Minor for his fourth season as Delmarva manager and Kevin Bradshaw for his second season as Aberdeen manager. Elvis Morel is managing the Dominican Summer League team.
