Orioles and Rays lineups

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. - The Orioles will try to build on their 6-4 road record tonight while beginning at three-game series against the Rays at Tropicana Field.

Trey Mancini remains in right field while Chris Davis plays first base. Mancini is 16-for-40 (.400) in 10 road games and he’s 7-for-12 (.583) with two home runs in the first inning this season.

Dwight Smith Jr., in left field again tonight, has homered in three of his last five games. He has eight RBIs in that span.

Renato Núñez, continuing in his role as designated hitter, is 15-for-43 (.349) over his last 11 games.

Jonathan Villar is 5-for-12 (.417) with runners in scoring position. He’s playing shortstop tonight.

Alex Cobb threw a simulated game this afternoon at Tropicana Field and could come off the injured list to make Friday night’s start against the Twins in Baltimore. Depends how his back responds to it.

The Orioles are 6-2 when scoring first, 5-0 when scoring at least six runs and 5-1 when scoring at least five.

Bundy-Throws-Gray-Front-Sidebar.jpgDylan Bundy will try to lower his 8.76 ERA and 1.784 WHIP in 12 1/3 innings. He’s allowed six home runs over his last two starts for a season total that ties for the highest in the American League. He led the majors last season with 41.

Bundy has a 6.30 ERA and 1.440 WHIP in 10 career games (nine) starts over 50 innings and the 19 home runs surrendered are the most against any opponent. He owns a 9.00 ERA and 1.944 WHIP in four starts at Tropicana Field, with 18 runs, 21 hits and 14 walks in 18 innings.

Kevin Kiermaier is 4-for-9 with two home runs against Bundy. Avisaíl García is 4-for-7.

The Orioles might be running into a buzz saw tonight with Tyler Glasnow starting for the Rays. He’s allowed only one run, walked three batters and struck out 21 over 17 innings. The only run surrendered came on an Alex Bregman homer in the first inning of his season on March 30.

Right-handed hitters are 6-for-32 (.188) against Glasnow and left-handers are 5-for-29 (.172).

The former Pirates prospect started against the Orioles on Aug. 7, 2018 and allowed one run and two hits with nine strikeouts over four innings at Tropicana Field. Tim Beckham homered off him.

Villar has the most at-bats against Glasnow, going 1-for-6 with three strikeouts.
