Orioles and White Sox lineups

Dwight Smith Jr. is back in left field tonight for the Orioles after sitting out last night’s game with a sore right quadriceps muscle.

Joey Rickard remains in center field, Chris Davis is back at first base and Richie Martin is the shortstop.

Trey Mancini has hit safely in 12 of 14 career games against the White Sox and is 20-for-54 (.370). He’s in right field again tonight.

Andrew Cashner owns a 4.34 ERA and 2.089 WHIP in five career games (three starts) against the White Sox spanning 18 2/3 innings. Former Orioles catcher Welington Castillo, behind the plate tonight, is 5-for-14 with a double. José Abreu is 6-for-9 with two doubles and Yonder Alonso is 4-for-10 with two doubles.

Former Yankees and Pirates pitcher Iván Nova has made four starts for the White Sox this season and is 0-2 with a 6.23 ERA and 1.431 WHIP in 21 2/3 innings. He’s walked only three batters and hasn’t surrendered a home run, so he has that going for him.

Nova is 8-4 with a 4.98 ERA and 1.313 WHIP in 18 career games (17 starts) versus the Orioles. The 112 innings he’s logged are the most against any opponent.

Davis is 10-for-35 with two doubles, four home runs, 11 RBIs and 13 strikeouts lifetime against Nova. Villar is 3-for-8 with a double and home run and Rio Ruiz is 3-for-4.

The Orioles will try to improve on their 1-10 home record.
