Orioles lineup vs. Yankees

Freddy Galvis is batting cleanup tonight as the Orioles begin a three-game series against the Yankees and their latest homestand.

Ryan Mountcastle is batting fifth as the designated hitter. DJ Stewart is behind him in the order and starting in right field.

Pat Valaika is the second baseman. He participated in early infield drills today before batting practice.

Kremer-Delivers-White-NYY-Sidebar.jpgDean Kremer is 0-3 with a 6.23 ERA and 1.538 WHIP in six starts. He’s faced the Yankees twice this season and allowed nine runs and 15 hits in 7 1/3 innings. Jay Bruce, Mike Ford and Gio Urshela hit home runs.

Four of Kremer’s 10 career starts have come against the Yankees and he’s registered a 5.40 ERA and 1.636 WHIP in 18 1/3 innings. But he held them to two runs over 11 innings in back-to-back starts last September.

Corey Kluber, the two-time Cy Young Award winner with the Indians, has posted a 3.06 ERA and 1.387 WHIP in seven starts and he’s surrendered only three home runs in 35 1/3 innings. He held the Orioles to one run in 6 2/3 innings in an April 27 start at Camden Yards.

Shortstop Gleyber Torres was placed on the COVID injured list yesterday. He’s a career .344/.429/.742 hitter with 12 doubles, 16 home runs and 36 RBIs in 44 games versus the Orioles.

The Orioles are 16-21 overall and 5-13 at home. They’ve gone 3-4 against the Yankees.

Anthony Santander is batting second and playing right field tonight at Double-A Bowie.
