Orioles and Rays lineups

Cedric Mullins is on the bench tonight as the Orioles begin a three-game series against the Rays at Tropicana Field.

Ryan McKenna is in center field. Austin Hays is in left and batting first.

Ryan Mountcastle is starting at first base and Kelvin Gutierrez is at third.

Spenser Watkins earned another start, his third in the majors. He’s allowed two runs and seven hits in 10 1/3 innings, walking six batters and striking out six.

Rays left-hander Ryan Yarbrough has a 4.30 ERA and 1.183 WHIP in 18 games, including 13 starts. He’s averaging 1.6 walks per nine innings.

Yarbrough faced the Orioles on May 19 and June 11 and surrendered five earned runs and eight total with 11 hits in 12 innings.

Trey Mancini homered twice in the first game and Freddy Galvis once. Mancini also homered in the second game and is 6-for-20 with two doubles, three home runs and eight RBIs lifetime against Yarbrough.

Mancini is 7-for-20 with four home runs and nine RBIs in six games against the Rays this season. The four homers are the most against any opponent.

Mullins is 3-for-18 in five games against Tampa Bay and his .167 average is his lowest against any opponent (minimum six at-bats.)

The Rays have won eight of their last 10 and are a half-game behind the first-place Red Sox. They’re 28-17 at home. They also have 28 comeback victories, second in the majors behind Boston’s 29.

The Orioles are 0-6 against the Rays this season and have been outscored 48-21 and outhit 71-34. They were swept in a three-game series at Tropicana Field on June 11-13.

They haven’t swept Tampa Bay in a three-game series at The Trop since May 6-8, 2014. Their 1-12 against the Rays in their last 13 games.
